Trojans respond, split a pair with rival Lions

Jacob Link drove in two runs as visiting Auburn snapped a six-game losing streak, holding off Auburn Mountainview’s seventh-inning rally for a 6-4 win in North Puget Sound League Olympic Division play Thursday night.

The Trojans improved to 3-6 in the division, 6-8 overall. The Lions are 6-4 and 6-9.

Jace Graves and Cameron Antee drove in runs for Auburn.

Evan Jilbert scattered five hits, allowing three runs, to earn the win, with Rhett Stein providing two innings of relief. Rylee Daugherty took the loss.

Nate Weeldreyer, Nick Dublinski and Tyler Burton each had an RBI for Auburn Mountainview.

On Wednesday, Auburn Mountainview scored early and often to rout Auburn 18-4 at Auburn High School. The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Hayden Byorick, who tripled and doubled, and Weeldreyer each drove in three runs for Auburn Mountainview. Daugherty doubled and drove in two runs, and Grant Harris had two RBIs.

Leadoff hitter Cooper White went 3 for 3 and scored four runs.

Jeffry Ason earned the win, allowing four runs and three hits while striking out four and walking six. Juan Hernandez took the loss.

For Auburn, Antee doubled and drove in two runs.

Elsewhere

Todd Beamer 9, at Auburn Riverside 5: Tate Wallat homered and drove in three runs as the Titans (6-2, 8-4) built a big lead and held off the Ravens (4-5, 7-6) in NPSL Olympic play Wednesday.

Jake Williams had two RBIs for the Ravens.

Ayden Adams got the win. Kenny Miller took the loss.
