Auburn joins 25th Rampathon celebration

The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) are celebrating 25 years of Rampathon, a community event where volunteers build free wheelchair access ramps to improve mobility for families.

Synergy Construction, a multifamily construction company in Woodinville, donated time to build a ramp for the Snider family in Auburn last Saturday. The new ramp will bring more mobility to Rich and Pat Snider, who are in their 80s and have struggled going up and down their stairs.

Dunn Lumber donated materials to build the ramp.

Mayor Nancy Backus dropped by to see the project and visit the crew and family last Saturday.

This year, MBAKS and its member volunteers plan to construct 50 ramps, which would be the most ever built during a single Rampathon event.

Since 1993, more than 450 ramps have been built and more than 30,000 of volunteer hours have donated by local builders.
