Fourteen people escaped a fire in an Auburn four-plex early Wednesday morning.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded at 1:12 a.m to the two-story building at 2410 N. St. NE, and the fire was out by 1:48 a.m. No firefighters were hurt, but the fire-unit sustained major damage, and the other three suffered smoke and water damage.

Two neighbors spotted the conflagration and called 911

Also responding to the fire were South King Fire and Rescue, the Puget Sound Fire Authority, and a rehab unit from North Highline that supplied snacks and water.

The Red Cross helped one adult and four children find temporary housing.

The fire is under investigation.
