Clean Sweep ’19

Volunteers joined city, business and neighborhood leaders for Clean Sweep on Saturday, a community-wide effort focused on major cleanup, environmental restoration and beautification efforts in different areas throughout Auburn.

A spring tradition, Auburn celebrated Earth Day by participating in one of the city’s largest annual volunteer efforts.

The day began with the ceremonial sweep on Main Street and along its sidewalks. The Kiwanis Club of Auburn served breakfast.

Volunteer groups performed general cleanup, landscaping, planting, weeding and other projects at various sites. Workers worked on a specific project or one that was assigned to them throughout the community.

Service clubs, social service agencies, faith-based groups, scouting troops, businesses, families and individuals were invited to join the work party.
