Auburn Valley Humane Society honors von Reichbauer with Wet Nose Award

King County Councilmember Pete Von Reichbauer was among the recipients of Auburn Valley Humane Society’s Wet Nose Awards at the organization’s recent gala and auction.
Von Reichbauer was instrumental in securing a $3,000 grant to help subsidize minor repairs, emissions testing, registration, licensing and adding first-aid equipment to a donated minivan for the AVHS. The vehicle has been used to transport supplies to the shelter’s thrift store, to senior facilities for pet therapy and mobile and offsite adoption events. Dozens of seniors have had the joy of a furry pet visit them and more than 50 animals have found homes through offsite adoptions.
Other AVHS Wet Nose Award winners included:
• Heather Lee, a DJ personality at WARM 106.9, has been an advocate and volunteer at AVHS for the past two years. She has been expanding media support for animal advocacy organizations. She has Wet Nose Wednesdays that feature animals available for adoption. She has been transporting pets by car and plane.
• Toril Sells Houses Team is committed to giving back and making a difference in the community by helping people buy, sell and invest in real estate. Its team of 15 has been supporting animals through its Give Back Big Mission campaign.
