Auburn honored fallen veterans during Memorial Day ceremonies Monday morning at Mountain View Cemetery.

Boy Scouts Troops 398, 401, Girl Scouts, and VFW and American Legion members joined the processional. Troop 398 began the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Geoffrey Klerekoper sang the national anthem, the Rev. Dr. Tim Klerekoper delivered the invocation, and Mayor Nancy Backus and Post Commander Tony Whetstine of Auburn VFW Post 1741 provided sentiments.

The Inter-tribal Warrior Society performed a rifle salute.

VFW Post 1741 donated small flags that sprinkled veterans gravesites throughout the cemetery. Scouts and parents volunteered their time to place the many flags.
