Washington Nurse of the Year set for Nov. 15; nominations close Aug. 2

March of Dimes of Washington state is preparing to honor nurses who exemplify an extraordinary level of patient care, compassion and customer service. Fifteen health care professionals will be recognized at an awards breakfast on Nov. 15.

Exceptional nurses employed in the state of Washington are eligible to receive awards. A selection committee comprised of health care professionals will review the confidential nomination forms and announce the award finalists in September. After the review process, 15 nurses will be honored at an awards breakfast at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. As event chair, Brenda Sharkey MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, Chief Nursing Officer, EvergreenHealth–Monroe brings years of experience in the nursing field and excitement to celebrate the profession to this year’s event.
Whether serving as health care provider, educator, researcher and/or adviser – nurses play a critical role in advancing the March of Dimes mission to fight for the health of every mom and baby. The Nurse of the Year initiative supports this mission while recognizing exceptional nurses throughout the state and celebrating the profession.
This year, nurses can be nominated in the following categories: Advocacy for Patients, Ambulatory Care, Behavioral Health, Clinical Care, Distinguished Nurse of the Year, Education, Emergency, Front Line Leader, Nursing Administration and Leadership, Nursing Technology/Analytics, Pediatric, Research Advancement, Rising Star, Transitional Care Nursing, Women’s Health.
