Four Auburn Riverside players have made the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association fall 2019 girls 4A all-state team.

Freshman forward Samiah Shell, sophomore forward Kiana Gutierrez, and senior defenders Addie Saarenas and Sydney Wate were chosen for the 16-member first team, the WSSCA recently announced.

The foursome led the Ravens (20-2-1) throughout a record-breaking season. AR won the North Puget Sound League Olympic title and advanced to the state championship match, where it came up short to Puyallup, 2-1.

Shell, who produced 17 goals, 27 assists, was a first-team all-NPSL and Seattle Times all-area performer. She holds school single-season records for assists and points and already owns the program’s career record for assists. She participated in the U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program inter-regional camp in Florida.

Gutierrez scored 20 goals and distributed 12 assists this past season. The first-team all-leaguer holds the school record for most goals in a season, had an assist in the state semifinals and championship game, and contributed at least a goal or an assist in 20 of AR’s 23 games last season.

Saarenas was selected to the all-NPSL first team and to the Seattle Times all-area squad. A team captain, Saarenas and the Ravens allowed only 12 goals in 23 games. AR posted 14 shutouts during a 16-game winning streak. Saarenas added five goals and five assists

Wate is a three-time, first-team all-league selection. In addition to providing outstanding defense, Wate had two goals and four assists. She has committed to play soccer at Montana State University Billings.
