A large brush fire burning in the 35200 block of Green Valley Road outside Auburn has prompted authorities to issue a level-2 evacuation order.

A level-2 evacation order suggests a high probability of the need to evacuate by packing necessary items and preparing one’s family, pets and vehicle for potential departure.

Multiple fire agencies have been called in to fight the conflagration near Southeast 352nd Street off a private road just south of Highway 18. The fire began April 18 when a burn pile got out of control in dry, windy conditions, according to fire authorities.

Among the agencies responding were an air-strike team. One firefighter sustained a minor injury but remained at the scene. At the time of this report, there were no other injuries.
