Early election results Nov. 5 show incumbents U.S. Rep. Adam Smith (D-District 9) and U.S. Rep. Kim Schrier (D-District 8) retaining their seats in Congress.

Smith is leading with 68.66% of the vote against challenger Melissa Chaudhry (D) at 28.78%, according to the Washington Secretary of State. The 9th Congressional District includes Renton, Mercer Island, Tukwila, Des Moines, Federal Way and parts of Seattle, Bellevue, Kent and Auburn.

Schrier is leading with 54.18% of the vote against Republican challenger Carmen Goers at 45.65%, according to the Washington Secretary of State. The 8th Congressional District includes parts of King, Chelan, Douglas, Kittitas, Pierce and Snohomish counties, including the Snoqualmie Valley and portions of the cities of Kent and Auburn. The district stretches east to Ellensburg and Wenatchee. Read more about the matchup here.
