Debbie Turcotte Maguire

September 17, 1954 – December 30, 2025

Debbie Turcotte Maguire passed peacefully on December 30, 2025, in Auburn, WA. She reluctantly leaves behind her hearts and souls – her daughter, Emily Carminati, son-in-law, Eric, and their son Colt, and her son Andrew Maguire and his daughter Kylie.

Daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, aunt, mother, grandmother, friend, community member, lifelong learner, diehard child advocate — all titles she wore proudly. A native Washingtonian, Debbie was raised in Issaquah before planting roots in Auburn for 40 years.

Her passion for children started young, volunteering at Seattle Children’s Hospital as a child and serving in the Dr. Frank D. Merritt Guild for twenty years. Motherhood didn’t just open her heart to her own children — it blew the doors wide open for every kid who needed someone in their corner. She was a Kids on the Block Puppeteer, Washington State PTA leader for two decades, and a champion of all kids.

She cared about her community, its safety, and its history — delivering newspapers, setting up city-wide Block Watch programs as an AmeriCorps member, serving in Private Security and as a Damsel in Defense Pro, believing every woman deserved to feel safe and powerful in the world. Ever the people person, she cheered members at Curves and TOPS, and preserved local stories as President of the White River Valley Museum Historical Society.

Debbie was a creative soul, an aspiring songwriter and children’s book author, who wore her heart on her sleeve. “To be rich is not what you have in your bank account, but what you have in your heart. Oh, yes…I am so rich!” She loved reading, live music, and her people — fiercely, deeply, and made sure they felt it.

The greatest chapter of her story started when she became a grandma. “How sweet it is, I have found my meaning…being a grandma. It’s my fav thing in the whole world…and the purest love I have ever known. Love my little beautifully unique Kylie and Colt snowflakes.”

“Be honest, have integrity…give back to the world too. And always be kind… Kind is my MOST fav word on the planet…kindness matters.”
