It’s kitten season: Auburn Valley Humane Society seeks good homes

The Auburn Valley Humane Society has officially declared that it is in the middle of kitten season. The shelter is seeing an influx of kittens through the doors, and the staff is looking to the Auburn community to find these furry friends their forever homes.
There are opportunities to meet with the cats not only at the Human Society’s main location at 4910 A Street SE, Auburn, but the organization also operates a Cat Café. The unique spot opened its doors in 2024 and gives individuals the chance to “enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while interacting with friendly and adoptable cats,” according to the society’s website. The Cat Café is located at 1101 Outlet Collection Way, Auburn.
The Auburn Valley Humane Society is also looking for support from community members in feeding the kittens. The society explained in a Facebook post on June 9 that “the kittens keep coming and they are eating us out of the house and home!”
The post stated that they “are in urgent need of key supplies necessary to care for the hundreds of kittens, cats, and dogs coming through our doors this season.”
Particularly with the increase in the amount of kittens arriving at the shelter, “Mom & Babycat WET food is especially critical as it is used daily for weaning kittens, underweight kittens, and transitioning little ones from bottle feeding to eating on their own.”
Visit either of the society’s locations to meet any of these kittens in person and give them a permanent home.
