Beverly Joy Lindbo Warnke

December 15, 1931- January 16, 2026

Beverly Joy Lindbo Warnke was born in North Dakota, December 15, 1931, third in a large and loving family who moved to the Pacific Northwest when her father came out to work in the shipyards during the war. She excelled in school and running, though girls were not allowed to participate in sports then. She was married for 60 years to Frank Warnke, helping him campaign successfully for State Representative and Senate positions for 20 years, by making signs, doorbelling, hosting coffee hours, and cooking lovely dinners which she enjoyed hosting. She was a wonderful cook and baker, particularly known for her cookies as she reached her 94th year. She attended night school while raising her children, graduating with a teaching degree from Central Washington University. She taught 1st grade in the Federal Way Schools and was a beloved teacher, keeping in contact with former students and colleagues all her life. She embraced life, was a salmon fisherman along with canning them, traveled after her retirement including a cruise to Norway when she was 92, was a wonderful gardener, an avid quilter, played the piano and the accordion, and was a founding member of the Auburn Symphony Orchestra, whose concerts she regularly attended. She was supportive of her family and of Orion Industries, whose philosophy and mission she would praise to anyone who would listen. She passed away in Surprise, Arizona on January 16, 2026 and is interred beside her husband at Mt. View Cemetery in Auburn. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 10 at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn, Washington. She will be missed.
