Auburn Police Department (APD) arrested a man July 3 wanted on a $50,000 domestic violence warrant by the Auburn Municipal Court.

Additionally, the man had fled from the Seattle Police Department (SPD) in a separate incident earlier that morning. He also was wanted on a state Department of Corrections warrant.

APD was able to arrest this man by using its Flock camera system, which captures license plate numbers, to help identify and locate the vehicle that the man was operating, according to a July 9 Facebook post from APD.

At 8:24 a.m. the vehicle was identified by the camera system by the APD. Officers quickly responded to the scene and initiated a traffic stop near Auburn Way North and Fourth Street NE., according to the post.

Multiple officer patrol vehicles were used to prevent the man from fleeing again. The man followed officers’ commands and was safely taken into custody.

Officers booked the man into King County jail due to the outstanding warrants and probable cause charge from the suspect’s interaction with the SPD earlier that morning.
