Pedestrian in Auburn injured while trying to catch bus

A pedestrian suffered an injury after they reportedly slipped and fell under the rear wheel of a bus on the morning of July 15 in Auburn according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:20 a.m., King County Metro Route 160 was travelling northbound along Auburn Way North and 28th Street NE. The bus began to exit the bus zone when a pedestrian attempted to run alongside the bus to catch up, according to King County Metro.
The pedestrian allegedly hit the bus with their hand, causing them to lose their balance and fall, according to King County Metro. The rear tires of the vehicle reportedly injured the pedestrian’s leg and foot.
Valley Regional Fire Authority transported the injured individual to Auburn General Hospital. According to King County Metro, the individual had non-life-threatening injuries.
The King County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the incident. A spokesperson for the office said that they did not have the gender or age of the pedestrian.
