MultiCare Auburn Medical Center receives recognition

MultiCare Auburn Medical Center is one of nine MultiCare Health system hospitals to have been recognized for stroke care by the American Heart Association (AHA).
In order to qualify, hospitals must demonstrate high-quality stroke treatment and excellence in patient outcomes, according to an Aug. 5 press release from Tacoma-based MultiCare.
The awards are a component of the AHA’s Get With The Guidelines program. The program is an in-hospital approach to help improve patient outcomes across cardiovascular and stroke focus areas, according to AHA’s website.
“MultiCare Health System is a not-for-profit health care organization with 13 hospitals and more than 30,000 team members,” according to the press release.
“MultiCare is committed to delivering high-quality care by adhering to the latest treatment guidelines and streamlining processes to ensure timely, appropriate care for strokes,” said Andrea Fleming, president of MultiCare Neuroscience Institute.
MultiCare Auburn Medical Center, 202 N. Division St., received the Get With The Guidelines: Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite & Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll awards.
The Gold Plus achievement is for hospitals that “are recognized for two or more consecutive calendar years of 85% or higher adherence on all achievement measures applicable and 75% or higher adherence with additional select quality measures in stroke,” according to the U.S. News and World Report.
“Get With The Guidelines programs help us measure our performance against nationally recognized standards and track our progress over time, reinforcing our commitment to quality, transparency and continuous improvement,” Fleming said.
