Valley Regional Fire Authority crews responded to two fires within 15 minutes of each other early Thursday morning.
No one was injured in the fires, which damaged a boat and an occupied home.
The first fire was dispatched at 1:10 a.m. when a passerby spotted the fire in the 3500 block of I Street Northeast. An approximately 12-foot boat was damaged.
The second fire occurred at approximately 1:24 a.m. in the 1200 block of 43rd Street Northeast. A smoke alarm alerted the family inside the approximately 2,500-square-foot, two-story home to the fire.
Three adults – a husband, wife, grandmother and one young child – were in the home. The grandmother and child were evaluated for smoke inhalation on scene but were not transported.
The home sustained minor damage, and the residents were able to re-occupy.
Both of the fires are under investigation.
