Auburn Mountainview boys and girls roll over Bonney Lake | Track and Field

The Auburn Mountainview boys and girls track and field teams both earned wins against South Puget Sound League 3A foes Bonney Lake on Thursday.
The Lion girls defeated the Panthers 54-37 with junior Aalia Braboy earning four first places at the meet with first in the high jump (4-feet, 2-inches), the discus (73-06), the long jump (30-07.50) and the shot put (25-06.00).
Junior Erika Lombardo added first places in the 100 (12.89-seconds) and 200-meter (26.55) races.
In the 400 Jasmine Moore was first and Whitney Echols grabbed first in the 100 hurdles with a 17.09.
In the 300 hurdles Maya Wagers finished first with a 49.79.
McKenzie Treece was first in the pole vault with a 8-foot vault and the Mountainview 4×200 relay and 4×400 teams also grabbed first place finishes.
In the boys competition the Lions defeated the Panthers 80-36. Victor Korchemniy keyed the team’s victory with first place finishes in the 100 (11.89) and the 200 (24.46). Johnny Houck was first in the 400 and Dylan Summerlin grabbed first in the 1,600.
In the 3,200 Aarun Rumbaugh was first.
Mountainview swept the hurdles races with Ray Hardaway notching a 18.08 in the 110 and Shaddye Melu placing first in the 300 with a 44.36. Melu was also first in the high jump with a 5-06.
The Lions swept the throwing events with William Mack finishing first in the shot put and the discus with throws of 41.00 and 109.03, respectively. Derek Sarrett was first in the javelin with a 104.07.
The Lions 4×100 relay team also finished first.
The Mountainview girls are currently 2-0 with the boys boasting a 1-1 league record. The team will travel to the Pasco Invite tomorrow and host Lakes on Wednesday.
