Valley Regional Fire Authority personnel extinguished an apartment fire in the 1400 block of 8th Street Northeast in Auburn on Saturday night.

The fire displaced three residents. There were no injuries to firefighters or residents.

Crews were dispatched at 6:48 p.m. for a reported apartment fire.  Initial radio reports indicated the apartments back porch was on fire and flames were spreading to the exterior siding. Firefighters arrived to find an exterior fire on the second floor that had spread into the apartments interior and above into the attic space.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the main body from the rear of the structure. Entry was made into the interior where the remaining fire was extinguished.

All of the building occupants were safely evacuated.

The Red Cross was contacted to help the three displaced residents.

The VRFA is investigating.
