Money matters that irk, smell

I sympathize with the recent letter writer who feels he doesn’t get his money’s worth from his homeowners association.
I don’t stress over my homeowners dues since I pay my property taxes directly and not as part of a mortgage. Since I pay more in property taxes in a month than my homeowners dues are for a year, it makes the homeowners dues seem almost trivial.
The letter writer should check his mortgage statement (assuming he carries a mortgage). Perhaps it will make him feel better to know the state and county are ripping us off far more than our homeowners associations.
I also see two recent letters complaining about our overpriced water and sewer for homeowners. I even found a ray of sunshine in this steaming turd.
I can retire in a few years and take all my assets with me to a lower cost of living area.
Of course, I will miss seeing a giant tunnel in Seattle for traffic being built next to the ocean in an earthquake zone. At least our tax dollars aren’t wasted on something stupid in Washington.
