Auburn Symphony Orchestra to open 17th season; concert Sunday

Auburn Symphony Orchestra begins its 17th season on Sept. 15 with a special concert of favorite composers and music from ballet, movies, opera and the classical music repertoire.

Auburn Symphony Orchestra begins its 17th season on Sept. 15 with a special concert of favorite composers and music from ballet, movies, opera and the classical music repertoire.

The concert begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 206 E St. NE.

Titled Music Especially for You!, the program includes fan favorites such as Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries”, Handel’s “Water Music” and Bernstein’s “West Side Story Suite”, to name but a few.

Founded in 1996, the fully professional orchestra has more than 60 musicians led by Stewart Kershaw, internationally renowned conductor and former music director for 25 years of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra.
