For the Reporter

Auburn Symphony Orchestra continues its new outdoor summer chamber series at historic Mary Olson Farm in Auburn.

Sunsets at the Mary Olson Farm features three concerts lead by ASO principals Jerry Oram (trumpet), Brian Wharton (cello) and Betty Agent (viola). The series was launched July 18 to an enthusiastic crowd.

The series continues on Thursday, Aug. 1 with Summer Serenade, featuring gems from classical and popular music including “Winter” by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons; Mozart’s “Divertimento in F Major”; Tchaikovsky’s “Snowdrop and Carnival” from The Seasons; Gershwin’s “There’s a Boat Dat’s Leavin’ soon for New York”; and Strauss’ “Saus and Braus” (polka) and “The Beautiful Blue Danube”.

Farm docents will give tours of the fully restored farmhouse beginning at 6 p.m. Wine will be available for purchase and a shuttle transporting people to and from the parking lot will occur one-half hour before and after the concert.

Concerts are festival seating, so blankets, baskets of food and low chairs are encouraged.

Sunsets at the Mary Olson Farm is made possible with support from the White River Valley Museum and Mary Olson Farm; the Auburn Arts Commission; 4Culture; and Sam’s Club.
