The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 231 calls for service between Aug. 17 and 23, among them the following:
Aug. 17
Aid call: 11:56 a.m., (Pacific): Pacific Police asked VRFA firefighters to evaluate a middle-aged woman who had been involved in a car accident. When firefighters determined that the woman was not hurt, they left her at the scene with police.
Aug. 18
Aid call: 11:57 a.m., (Algona): Firefighters treated a man with a past history of stroke and medication to deal with it, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
Aug. 19
Brush fire: 4:44 p.m., (mutual aid): Firefighters provided two engines and one command vehicle to help Mountain View Fire and Rescue tackle a large brush fire.
Aug. 20
Aid call: 8:15 a.m., (Auburn): Firefighters and medics arrived to help a woman who was complaining of respiratory difficulty. Medics later transported her to a local hospital.
Aug. 21
Aid call: 8:15 a.m., (Auburn): A woman was in the middle of a diabetic emergency when firefighters arrived and stabilized her blood sugar. She told them she would follow up with her doctor.
Aug. 22
Aid call: 1:30 p.m., (Lea Hill): Firefighters helped a woman who was suffering from abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.
Aug. 23
Aid call: 8:04 p.m., (South Auburn): Firefighters and King County Medic One treated a toddler who was seizing after he fell and hit his head. Medics motored the youngster off to Valley Medical Center for follow up.
