Helping a boy in need

Thanks for the Nov. 7 article updating our community on the progress of Cullen Steele, who is making great progress, three months after a heart, double-lung transplant.
What the article doesn’t mention is the role that The Auburn Reporter played in bringing our community behind Cullen and his family. In order to get on the transplant list, he needed to raise $75,000 to cover expenses.
Many people put together fundraising events and made personal donations during the year-long drive to raise that money. And the Auburn Reporter helped publicize them and make it happen. The people of Auburn and its newspaper at their best.
