The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 226 calls for service between Sept. 12 and 18, among them the following:

Sept. 12

Structure fire: 12:57 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded as mutual aid with Kent Regional Fire Authority to a converted train caboose a-blazing in the area of 14200 SE 288th Street. Firefighters helped search the structure and extinguish the fire. The South King County Investigation Team is investigating.

Sept. 13

Brush fire: 1:26 p.m., (Auburn). Using hand lines, firefighters extinguished a 40-by-40 foot fire near Brannan Park.

Sept. 14

Accident: 12:51 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters provided traffic protection at a minor, four-vehicle collision with no injuries until the Washington State Patrol arrived.

Sept. 15

Natural gas leak: 2:30 p.m., (Pacific). Having responded to a natural gas leak in a building, firefighters found an overhead gas pipe that someone had accidentally broken. Puget Sound Energy helped deal with the problem.

Sept. 16

CPR: 10:03 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and medics revived the heartbeat of a 64-year-old man who’d suffered cardiac arrest. King County Medics transported the man to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center. The man’s son was performing CPR on him when the help arrived.

Sept. 17

Aid call: 5:32 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated an 84-year-old woman who had fallen, injuring her shoulder, and a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Sept. 18

Aid call: 12:18 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters treated a 17-year-old boy who had dislocated his knee, and left him in stable condition with his coach.
