The Auburn Downtown Association Design Committee has continued the façade grant program, which provides downtown businesses the opportunity to apply for monies for storefront restoration.
Six grants have been awarded to several downtown businesses in 2015: Home Plate Pub; Jason’s Coffee & Bakery; Hurd building (Main Street Thrift and Mando’s Disc); Nelson’s Jewelry; Tribeca Spa; and Zola’s Café.
“We’re excited about our upcoming façade redesign on Main Street,” said Zola’s Café owner Sonia Kessler. “I have wanted to make my business more visible, and the grant from the Auburn Downtown Association has helped me envision this. I appreciate the support from the Auburn Downtown Association staff and volunteers, which made this project possible.”
In addition to the ADA’s grant money, the City of Auburn has a façade grant program under way, that is contributing $200,000 to downtown business restoration.
