Elmer H. Grosbier

Elmer H. Grosbier passed away on August 20, 2014 in Auburn at the age of 82. He was born on June 18, 1932 in Arpin, WI, the son of Henry and Margaret (Dillinger) Grosbier.

Elmer joined the US Army at the age of 17, and served for 21 years. He married the love of his life, Ingrid Flasche in November 1955. Elmer served in the Army until 1970 when he retired as a Sergeant First Class. He then moved to Auburn where he worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 25 years.

Elmer loved to spend time with his family and friends, and especially loved the time he was able to spend outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a long time member of the Auburn VFW.

Elmer was preceded in death by his wife Ingrid in 2012. He is survived by his daughter Sandie Gallicchio and her husband Ed, whom he always claimed as his #1 son.

The memorial mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The urn committal with military honors will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Sandie and Ed would appreciate memorial donations in Elmer’s name to The American Heart Association, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or any local blood bank.
