David Leo Fugit

David Leo Fugit, 71, passed away September 26, 2008 in Packwood, WA. He graduated from LaGrande, OR in 1955; David also served in the National Guards and moved to Auburn in 1958. He joined the Fire Dept in 1959 and re-tired in 1989. After 5 years as Auburns Director of Disaster Management & Planning he served as Fire Marshall for Emerald Downs Race Track from 1995 – 2007.David is survived by his wife, Linda Fugit of Packwood, WA; a son, Michael D. Fugit MD, daughter-in-law Monica Fugit, two grandchildren; Elizabeth and Eric fugit of Sacramento, CA; former wife, Joanne (Fugit) Robertson of Laclede, ID; sisters, Annie Damon of Medford, OR; Judy Sheppard of Prosser, WA, MaLonnie Martin of Portland, OR. David is also survived by sister-in-law Kathleen M. Bur-nett, step-son Paul L. Alvarez and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.Memorial was held October 13, 2008 Emerald Downs Auburn, WA. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the “David Fugit Memorial Fund” Sterling Savings. Contributions will be used for a Memo-rial Bench and Plaque. Per Dave’s request his ashes will be scattered at a Memorial in Packwood at a date to be determined.
