Amelia Bloom
Amelia Bloom, 94, of Auburn, WA, passed away August 17, 2014. She has gone to be with her beloved husband, Andrew.
Amelia was born in Maryville, Missouri, on October 9, 1919. She was raised in Missouri and Nebraska, met Bill Adams in St. Joseph, Missouri, where both were attending college.
In 1940, Bill and Amelia moved to Seattle, WA, married there, and Bill got a job working at Boeing. They had 4 children. They divorced in 1970. Amelia met Andrew Bloom, MD, an Auburn physician, the two married and had many happy years together.
Andrew passed away in 1991, but Amelia continued to enjoy her hobbies of quilting, reading, writing, piano, and travelling. Later, when Amelia began to lose her vision due to macular degeneration, she moved to Judson Park Retirement Community, and resided there until her death.
Amelia is survived by her children, Paul, Connie, David, and Jennifer.
A memorial service will be held at the Judson Park Retirement Community on September 7, 2014, at 1:00 PM. Prior to her death, Amelia requested no flowers, but to send remembrances to Salt Water Unitarian Universalist Church, at 25701 14th Pl. S., Des Moines, WA 98198.
