William David Petrich

William David Petrich, 64, passed away of a heart attack January 28, 2013 in Auburn, WA.He was born to Charles and Artis Petrich April 11, 1948 in Auburn. William graduated from Darrington High School in 1966 and then entered the U.S. Army. After his military time he became a welder/fabricator as well as a truck driver. He truly enjoyed using his welding skills building automobiles. William was involved as a mechanic with race cars and high powered boats. Taking time for family was also important; he especially liked teaching his boys about life. William was a loving parent, an excellent friend and always ready with a joke to tell or to pull a joke on someone. He was extremely friendly, outgoing and a good listener.Preceding him in death was his father Charles W. Petrich and brother Albert “Abby” Petrich. Surviving William is his mother Artis Alma Petrich of Ellensburg, WA; his sons, Charles C. Petrich of Post Falls, ID, Michael “Tony” A. (Lyla Snelson) Petrich of Ellensburg, WA, Matthew D. (Crystal) Petrich of Yokosuka, Japan, Cori Lee (Holly Tidd) Petrich of Auburn, WA; siblings, Clayton Petrich of Metaline Falls, WA, Evelyn Gibson of Ellensburg, WA and 8 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, 1-3 p.m. at Eagle’s Club of Auburn, 702 M St. SE, Auburn, WA.
