The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 206 calls for service between March 6 and 12, among them the following:
March 6
Minor Fire: 4:48 p.m., (Pacific). Summoned to a possible oven fire at Rainier Vista Apartments, firefighters arrived to find that a resident had already put out the fire. The resident told firefighters he had forgotten about some plastic he had left in the oven when he went to use it and found a small fire of melting plastic, which he immediately extinguished with an on-site extinguisher. Neither the oven nor the apartment sustained any damage.
March 7
Accident: 12:41 p.m.,(Auburn). Firefighters responded to a two-car accident, and a private ambulance transported one woman to Tacoma General.
March 8
Aid call: 11:15 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters treated a woman for significant injuries she had sustained falling off a forklift, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
March 9
Aid call: 5:23 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded a woman who was complaining of a respiratory issue, and King County Medics transported her to MAMC.
March 10
Aid call: 10:53 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responded to an unconscious person who was suffering from a possible stroke, and King County Medics transported the patient to MAMC with the help of a VRFA firefighter from Engine 32.
March 11
Aid call: 5:15 p.m., (North Auburn). Firefighters responded to a woman who was complaining of chest pain, and King County Medics treated her at the scene and transported her to MAMC.
March 12
Carbon Monoxide Alarm: 11:43 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a report of a carbon monoxide alarm in a residence found carbon monoxide coming from the furnace, shut off the furnace, ventilated the residence and called Puget Sound Energy to investigate further.
