Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Jan. 3 and 7:
Jan. 3
Theft from motor vehicle: 7:17 a.m., 1800 block of C Place Southeast. A person or persons unknown to all but themselves broke into someone’s work van and stole items from inside.
Hit and run: 1:07 p.m., 500 block of C Street Southwest. A semi tractor-trailer backed into an Audi SUV and then fled eastbound on SR 18. Police stopped the fleeing driver several miles away.
Burglary: Overnight, 4300 block of B Street Northwest. Bad guys broke into a fenced storage yard overnight, cut the locks off a storage container and stole items undisclosed from inside of it.
Theft: 8:05 p.m., 930 18th Place Northeast. Somebody stole something from the Auburn Food Bank.
Jan. 4
Theft: 2 p.m., 3814 D Place Southeast. Somebody stole a scooter.
Jan. 5
Theft: 10 a.m., 100 block of D Street Southwest. Somebody stole a moped-scooter.
Theft: Overnight, 3737 A St. SE. An employee of Rainier Fencing and Decking reported a theft of scrap metal that police had recently recovered from a previous case.
Jan. 6
Disorderly conduct: 11:28 p.m., 2300 Ron Crockett Drive Northwest. Police busted a guy for, well, acting like a jerk, in a way far removed from that which the law deems orderly.
Jan. 8
Theft: 11 a.m., 2504 Auburn Way N. Between Dec. 26 and Jan. 8, an employee of Rainier Arms LLC allegedly stole about $290 worth of stuff.
Shoplifting: 5:54 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way. A man stole two handbags from a business.
Theft: 4:33 p.m., 30000 block of 127th Place Southeast. Somebody stole a package from the front door of a home
