Skies gave way to sunshine, embracing a parade of boys and girls ballplayers as they scrambled onto the field at the Auburn High School Ballfields last Saturday to officially begin the Little League season.

Family and friends, baseball and softball teams of all sizes and descriptions took to the field in the traditional ceremonies of opening day. Afterward, the fields opened for regular-season play.
