Olson Farm gets a boost from 4Culture

4Culture recently awarded White River Valley Museum $50,000 to complete utility upgrades to historic Mary Olson Farm.

Installation of electrical, water, waste water and related services will provide necessary public improvements to the landmarked farm before the site opens to the public.

The mission of the museum is to share the history of the area known by the pioneers as the White River Valley.

4Culture awarded $328,835 to 11 King County heritage facility projects. The program is designed to enhance the cultural life of county citizens by funding the purchase, design, construction, and remodeling of heritage facilities, and the purchase of equipment intended to be used for at least 10 years.

Elsewhere

• Prince’s Food Mart, 813 Auburn Way S., recently opened. The store, owned by Harminder Chee Ma and managed by Harvinder Kaur, meets a wide assortment of needs – coffee and pastries, hot dogs and snacks, dairy products and school supplies, Lotto tickets and household items.

Store hours are 6 a.m.-11 p.m. each day, with plans of staying open 24/7.
