Soos Creek Botanical Garden, 29308 132nd Ave. SE, in Auburn, will host the third annual Art in Bloom Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15.

Three art associations from across the valley, Kent Valley Artists, Artists United and Arts Alliance Northwest, are leading the free festival.

Lori Thomas, one of the event organizers, explained the importance for the community to show up for local artists.

“Supporting local artists keeps our community vibrant and unique. When we buy from creators right here in South King County we’re investing in real people and their dreams instead of big corporations,” Thomas said.

“Plus, every piece of art tells a story tied to our shared Pacific Northwest life, from garden blooms to local landscapes. It strengthens connections and reminds us that creativity makes our neighborhoods feel more alive and caring,” she said.

The event will feature 35 artisan booths, a juried art show, food and live entertainment for all ages.

The art festival’s location in a botanical garden is no accident. Thomas commented on the partnership between the artists showcasing their work and Soos Creek Botanical Garden.

“To me, ‘Art in Bloom’ perfectly captures how creativity unfolds just like the flowers in our gardens. This event feels like a wonderful reminder that both gardens and artists thrive when given space to shine,” she said.

“Creativity isn’t just a hobby; it is our humanity and it is what makes our community strong and supportive. We plan this event and show up because we believe art inspires the heart and soul of our community,” Thomas said.
