Area businesses and restaurants honor veterans past and present with special opportunities on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Among them:
• Applebee’s continues a tradition it started six years ago by thanking the nation’s veterans and active duty military and inviting them to their neighborhood restaurants for a free thank you meal.
Applebee’s expects to serve more than one million free meals from its special Veterans Day menu.
Hours vary by location and guests should call their local Applebee’s restaurant in advance to inquire about specific location hours or visit www.applebees.com for more information.
Applebee’s also is encouraging guests to show their gratitude by leaving a message for current and former military members at thankyoumovement.com.
• Brown Bear Car Wash honors veterans and current service military with free car washes on Veterans Day.
As a way of thanking the military, Brown Bear offers free “Bear Essentials” car washes to all current or former members of the military on Veterans Day.
See www.brownbear.com for a list of participating tunnel wash locations.
The offer will operate on an honor system and no verification or documentation is required. Drivers should identify themselves as a current or former member of the military to the wash attendant.
