Auburn-based Donovan Brothers Construction honored

Auburn-based Donovan Brothers Construction has earned the Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Award.

The company was honored for its work on the Franciscan Medical Pavilion in Auburn.

After learning that Donovan Brothers, Inc. had developed the site, built the shell and completed a number of other tenant improvements in the Franciscan Medical Pavilion, it was asked to bid on and was awarded the contract to build out the 1,600-square-foot space. The technologically-advanced facility offers state-of-the-art 3D mammography screening and DEXA bone imaging scans. The primary function of the clinic is to provide early detection of cancer while creating a more comfortable and efficient screening experience for patients.

Donovan Brothers, Inc. began work in December 2015 with a completion date, “First Patient Day,” scheduled for May 10, 2016.

The space includes a reception and seating area, two restrooms, two dressing rooms, one break room, three storage and laundry rooms, one office, and two patient exam rooms. Luxury finishes and specialty equipment added to the complexity of the project. Level four gypsum wallboard was installed throughout and bathrooms were hand-tiled. A nine-wood Douglas fir slat ceiling was installed above the reception desk with quartz countertops and facing. LVT plank flooring was installed and plastic laminate faux wood cabinetry was used throughout. Donovan Brothers also installed all of the medical equipment that included the dual-energy absorptiometry (DEXA) machine for measuring bone density and a 3D mammography machine.

Collins Woerman was the architect on the project.

Donovan Brothers completed the project on time and on budget. There were no medical or time-loss injuries in the 1,427 man hours worked.
