Auburn businesses step up to support Little League families

Several local restaurants have stepped forward to support Auburn Little League as the team continues its run at the World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.

Several local restaurants have stepped forward to support Auburn Little League as the team continues its run at the World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.

The families need financial support to cover travel expenses.

TODAY

• Chihuahua’s (4202 Auburn Way N.) will donates 50 percent of all food orders to the all-stars. T-shirts, signs and chocolate baseball bats also will be sold to raise money for all-star families.

• Applebee’s (1441 D St. NE) will host an all-day fundraiser for the all-stars. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of the check to the team. Applies to lunch, dinner and late-night snack. Pick up a flyer at the front.

WEDNESDAY

• My Spot at the Station (110 2nd St. SW, No. 125, at Auburn Transit Station) will hold an all-you-eat spaghetti feed from 6 to 8 p.m. The dinner will welcome home families. The meal is free for Little Leaguers and their families; $4.99 for all patrons and supporters, with 15 percent of all proceeds from the dinner going to the Auburn Little League families.

• Make a donation at BB McGraws Family Restaurant & Sports Bar; located at 440 – 16th St., Auburn (restaurant is showing the game on its 24-inch big screen TV and 45 other TVs as well as other games throughout the tournament).

• Make a donation at the Iron Horse Casino, located at 333 – 15th St. NE, Auburn (casino will be showing all games)

• Host your own viewing party and take donations for the families and drop off at any Bank of America or Sound Credit Union location.
