A quick-study in the evolving tech industry, David Joiner plied his trade for various companies for nine years, but ultimately wanted to do something different.

Now he is working for himself.

The Auburn man has established his own center, Computer Connection, on East Main Street, specializing in repair and services for a wide range of technical and electrical gadgetry, both big and small, residential and commercial.

“Customers are not just customers, but your friends. I want to treat them well. I want to do it my way,” said Joiner, 28, who grew up here and graduated from Auburn High School before embarking on a career in the tech and computer world.

Joiner’s small business is on the opposite end of Main Street from where his grandfather, Edward Garre, opened a radio station in the 1960s.

“Auburn is home,” he said. “My whole family has been in this town.”

Joiner intends to be different. He is willing to sit down with customers and go over issues and repairs.

“I’m in the business of teaching people how not to break their computers,” he said. “I am here to teach them.”

Joiner is skilled in most computer makes as well as home theaters and security systems. He also offers mobile service.

Joiner and his wife, Muskaan, are newlyweds.
