Auburn’s A Street not safe for school-aged kids

Sara Byers says she wants “a safe place” for her kids to play and walk to school. I sincerely hope she does not allow her children to play on or near such a busy road. Despite the presence of sidewalks on A Street, the Auburn School District does NOT consider it to be a safe walking zone.

Despite the presence of sidewalks on A Street, the Auburn School District does NOT consider it to be a safe walking zone. There are other, much SAFER ways for students to get to school, without walking along that road.

If anyone has any questions regarding this, please contact the transportation department before the start of the next school term.

As for “attacking” a pastor, remember HE is the one who cast aspersions on the character of the baristas in the first place, insinuating that they were selling more than coffee. That certainly wasn’t very nice.

After reading the Auburn Reporter articles as well as the letters from Byers, I sincerely have my doubts that this issue has had anything to do with a safe place for children to play or walk to school.

I do have a concern regarding the law stating the need for coverage “from the areola on down,” I’d like to ask, “on down” to where? The waist? The floor? This kind of vague wording is just asking for city resources to be tied up in an expensive legal quagmire rather than used for something that benefits the entire city, and not just a handful of easily offended citizens.
