Don’t Monkey with the Family Genes

I told my son and daughter
Ponder the monkey out yonder.
Watch him swing by tail and arms
All around the family tree.
I told my darling gene-carriers
The future bearers of the inheritors
Of our family tree,
But for the glory of God,
Go he, she, and me.
