Open downtown parking for the handicapped

Regarding Chase Bank's parking spaces in downtown Auburn: Not only does the bank have several parking spaces on the lot the building is on, and granted, owns 16 more spaces alongside Safeway, but why do they need seven more spaces opposite the Safeway spots?

Also, there is a need for more handicapped parking spaces. Some that are marked “3 hour parking limit” could easily be marked “handicapped permit parking.” Those seven could easily be marked that way, as most of them and the 16 stand empty.

If it is in the interest of the “community” to make it friendly for parking, then this idea should be definitely considered.

As a handicapped person, I ask this.
