There are bigger issues than plastic bags

I am glad to hear from last week’s paper that Sen. Mona Das is most proud of her proposed bill that would prohibit retailers from handing out single-use plastic bags.

Meanwhile, what about the illegal tolling on the 405 freeway? What about the mental health crisis with Western State Hospital losing federal accreditation and crazy homeless people foraging in our neighborhoods? What about the daily violence on our streets that has made us afraid to go to public parks or libraries?

I could go on, but I hope that you get the message. So glad that the important stuff has been handled.
