Santa Parade and Tree Lighting: 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, on Main Street. Auburn’s Lighted Santa Parade returns. From Auburn High School to City Hall, lighted entries will fill Main Street with holiday joy. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. the parade will feature lighted vehicles, floats, cars, and walking entries. Live music before and after the parade at City Hall. Event wraps with the annual tree lighting at City Hall plus a visit from Santa.
Santa Parade Cookies, Cocoa, and Crafts: 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at Postmark Center for the Arts, 20 Auburn Ave. $5 per person. Get your craft on at Postmark Center for the Arts prior to Auburn’s Santa Parade and Tree Lighting festivities. Alongside all the fun happening downtown on Saturday, Dec. 7, Postmark will be offering two different holiday arts crafts accompanied by warm cocoa and delicious cookies.
Holiday music: Auburn Symphony Orchestra will host its Holiday Spectacular from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 702 4th St. NE. It will be a festive evening for the whole family filled with traditional and new holiday music and treats. Featuring vocalist Tim Pavino. Come early for even more cheer including photos with Santa, hot cocoa and cookies. Tickets range from $25-$45 and include discounts for families and students. Visit www.auburnsymphony.org.
Festival of Trees: Once Upon a Time: Nov. 20 to Jan. 5 at the White River Valley Museum, 918 H St. SE. The museum transforms into a fairytale forest this winter. Beautiful trees decorated by our local business partners will fill the galleries with the spirit of the season.
A Very Dickens Christmas Exhibit: Nov. 20 to Jan. 5 at White River Valley Museum, 918 H St. SE. What did Scrooge see on Christmas Eve? Visit scenes from “A Christmas Carol” interpreted with costumes and artifacts from the museum’s collection accompanied by recorded excerpts from the book.
Gingerbread Contest: Dec. 4 to Dec. 18 at the Auburn Community and Events Center, 910 9th St. SE. This free event celebrates the holidays and brings the community together to see what Auburn can build. Fifteen gingerbread structures will be on display at the events center.
Santa Breakfast: Two sessions available on Dec. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Auburn Community and Events Center, 910 9th St. SE. There is a holiday breakfast with Santa. Pancakes, sausage, and eggs served up by Santa’s elves during two separate seatings, 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. All ages.
