A bicyclist killed in Sumner last Thursday when he accidentally fell in front of a dump truck has been identified as 22-year-old Collin Keck of Auburn, according to the the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Keck was struck at approximately 7:22 Thursday morning following a collision with a dump truck at the 14200 block of 8th Street East in Sumner. The tires on Keck’s bike apparently slipped on some grass. The truck, which was hauling gravel, was unable to stop before hitting him, authorities said.

Valley Regional Fire Authority, East Pierce Fire and Rescue and King County Medic One Paramedics responded to the scene.

CPR was initiated, but the man died of his injuries at the scene.
