Auburn garage fire displaces 3 adults

Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters extinguished a garage fire at a home in the 1100 block of 26th Street Southeast in Auburn early Monday morning.

Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters extinguished a garage fire at a home in the 1100 block of 26th Street Southeast in Auburn early Monday morning.

All of the building’s occupants safely evacuated.

One resident was treated for smoke inhalation. The Red Cross was contacted to help three residents who were displaced by the fire.

There were no injuries to firefighters.

VRFA firefighters, responding to a 1:38 a.m. call of a reported residential fire, arrived to find the garage ablaze and extending into the main residence. Firefighters quickly knocked down and contained the fire.

A VRFA fire investigator is determining the fire’s cause and origin.
