Auburn photographer places 8th in world wedding contest

Auburn's Ron Storer recently placed eighth in the world for top wedding photographers in 2010, according to the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (AG|WPJA).

Auburn’s Ron Storer recently placed eighth in the world for top wedding photographers in 2010, according to the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (AG|WPJA).

“I am thrilled with my results this year,” Storer said. “There were so many special memories that I was able to capture for my clients, and to have those images earn awards in the midst of such a talented group of photographers worldwide means just that much more.”

The AG|WPJA is comprised of a select group of international wedding photographers who are at the forefront of the wedding photography industry when it comes to enhancing images.

The chief objective of the AG|WPJA is to provide members with a platform where the finest enhanced, manipulated and/or artistic wedding photojournalism in the world is spotlighted and promoted for the bride and groom.

In addition, Storer’s son, Torey, 17, became the youngest photographer to be accepted into the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association). Now, at 18 years old, he is the youngest member ever to have received awards in the WPJA.

There are many husband/wife teams in the photography business, but the Storers may be the only current award-winning wedding photojournalism father-son team in the world, according to David Roberts, of WPJA and AGWPJA.

“I am so fortunate to have my talented son, Torey, with me when we have traveled the globe shooting weddings,” Ron Storer said. “We have shared some wonderful memories, and he has been an extreme blessing to me.”
