Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between July 18 and 24:

July 18

Monkey sees, Monkey says, “git”: 5:58 p.m. 124 2nd St. SE. Staff at the Spunky Monkey saw a guy up to no good and kicked him out until 2024.

Robbery with knife: 6:10 p.m., 101 Auburn Way N. A prolific criminal stole tuna from Safeway and then threatened loss prevention officers with a knife.

July 19

Highly suspicious: 6:26 a.m., 5400 block of Nathan Loop Southeast. A suspicious vehicle freighted with shady-looking subjects kept approaching various houses in a suspicious way.

Fraud: 12:41 p.m., 29400 block of 111th Avenue Southeast. A resident called to report the theft of a check from her mailbox. Somebody later cashed the check in her name.

Controlled substance: 6:09 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Somebody found a purse with drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine inside at the Muckleshoot Casino.

Burglary: 6:30 p.m., 2700 block of Alpine Drive Southeast. Somebody burglarized a home of its washer, its dryer and some tools. Police could not find any signs of forced entry.

July 20

Dust-up: 2:33 a.m., 3800 block of Auburn Way S. Neighbors got upset with each other for reasons undisclosed and then commenced to fussing and fighting in the small hours of an Auburn morning.

Burglary: 7:28 a.m., 1520 Industry Drive SW. A burglar or burglars cut the fence surrounding a private property and stole wire spools.

Theft: Overnight, 32300 block of 47th Avenue South. Thieves absconded with somebody else’s front porch patio furniture of undisclosed value.

July 21

Assault: 6:51 p.m., 505 N. Division St. For reasons undisclosed, somebody hit some dude on the head with a candlestick.

Assault: 8 p.m., 2300 Ron Crockett Drive NW. It was a peaceful Sunday, but one man broke the serenity by hitting another man in the face at Emerald Downs.

July 22

Assault: 1:32 a.m., 4010 A Street Southeast. Police arrested a person who’d stabbed a man in the back with a knife.

Theft: 11 p.m. 2402 Auburn Way S. Somebody stole a backpack from its owner at the Muckleshoot Casino.
