Auburn police continue to investigate an early Saturday morning shooting that sent two women and a man to local hospitals.

According to police, the shooting occurred at a residence in the 1700 block of 33rd Place Southeast around 1 a.m.

The police department responded to the incident of shots being fired. Officers arrived in the area to observe two vehicles leaving the scene with their lights out. Officers attempted to stop one of the vehicles, but failed to do so. A short pursuit ensued where officers used a PIT maneuver — a tactic that forces the chased car to veer sideways and lose control — in order to stop it. The occupants subsequently were arrested.

The three gunshot victims are being treated at Auburn General Hospital and Harborview Medical Center. The victims are two women and man, all in their late teens or early 20s.

The victims included a pregnant woman who was shot in the chest and is in critical condition at Harborview. The man also is in critical condition at Harborview, with the second woman in serious condition at Auburn General Hospital.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to the scene where firefighters found an approximately 18-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Firefighters and King County Medic One treated the patient at the scene and transported the patient to Harborview.

At 1:55 a.m., the VRFA was dispatched to a report of a pregnant woman with blood on her chest in the 600 block of Auburn Way South. Firefighters examined the approximately 18-year-old woman and found she had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Firefighters and King County Medic One treated the patient at the scene and transported the patient to Harborview.
