The Auburn School District Board of Directors recognizes Veronika Raguzin-Holloman, a counselor at Auburn Riverside High School, for her outstanding service at 7 p.m., Monday in the James P. Fugate Administration building.

A native Argentinian, Raguzin-Holloman moved to the United States at age 17 without knowing a word of English. She earned her teaching degree at University of Arizona and taught Spanish prior to earning her master’s in guidance and counseling. She is in her eighth year at Auburn Riverside.

“I loved teaching, but you see a different side of students when you are a counselor,” Raguzin-Holloman said.
